Laundry Attack

We were folding Ella's clean clothes in her room and she decided that she wanted to "help". She pulled the clothes out of the basket and spread them all over the room. She would pile them on top of herself and then throw them off and think it was hilarious. She had us cracking up! We'll take your "help" any day Ella!
Action shot, diving into the laundry pile!

On another happy note, Jason got a job! It's temporary for a month and then maybe longer if they have work for him to do, but he was quite happy to get any sort of architecture job he could...they are hard jobs to come by these days! It's at the architecture firm Mahlum in the Pearl District. He's really enjoying it there and we're crossing our fingers that they have lots of work so he can stay there a bit!

Playtime and a Tooth

We have tile floor in our kitchen. Ella chased plastic balls around the floor for at least 1/2 an hour this week...every time she'd get to one and try to grab it, it would roll away on the slick tile. She thought it was wonderfully entertaining and was laughing up a storm, as were we!

On another happy note our toothless wonder FINALLY got a tooth last week. We thought we might have to invest in baby dentures but thankfully her pearly whites have kicked into action. Doesn't do great things for her sleep (she took 1/2 an hour worth of naps most the week instead of 3 hours of naps a day!) but at least she won't be toothless all her life! :)

Playin at the Park

We took Ella to a near by park to play this afternoon. She's a big fan of the baby swings....she complains when they stop swinging. We slid down the slide and rocked on the springy horse things but the swings are by far her fave. The weather is getting a bit warmer and drier so it's easier to go out and play now.

So Big

Ella is changing so much every day it seems! She is crawling at hyper speed, we can tell when she's headed for something that she isn't supposed to have because she cranks up the speed to about double. Today we set the garbage can out from under the sink so we could take the trash to the big garbage can, well we got distracted and left the trash can out in the open in the kitchen....as soon as she noticed Ella bee-lined it for the forbidden garbage! I had to sprint to stop her as soon as I noticed. She loves to try to get into the bathrooms and really likes to stand up next to the dining room chairs. She's exploring everything and will go out and check out rooms of the house that we aren't in and then come back and look to make sure we're still there...so cute. Clapping is another new trick of the week, she'll clap back at you once you start clapping. How did she get so big and learn so much so fast?!

9 Month Appointment

Ella had her 9 month Dr. appointment this week. She weighs 17lb 11oz (30th percentile), she's 28 inches long (60th percentile), and has a 42cm head (20th percentile). The pediatrician said she's growing like a champ (although down a little on her weight probably because she's moving around so much) and that all looks well.

We went on a walk to the neighborhood park today and Ella swung for the first time. I held her on my lap on the "big kid" swings. She seemed to like it and just relaxed and laid back against me as we swung, probably could have fallen asleep if we swung long enough. It was such a pretty sunny day here! It makes me anxious for spring to be here. It's so nice to see a bit of blue sky to break up the gray cloudy days!

Crawling and Climbing

You can't be a toy in our house unless you taste good too!

Ella figured out how to really crawl last weekend. Since getting the hang of it she's movin all over the place. She'll follow us out of a room and into the next, which has been nice for us - rather than either picking her up and taking her everywhere we go or listening to her complain about us not being right next to her she can move where she wants to go quickly by herself. We better get to baby proofing stat! She isn't getting into things yet, but we think it's the next thing coming! She's really into climing things this week too. She's started to pull up on our couch and coffee table and her toys, not to mention Jason and I as we sit on the floor with her (we're now known as mom and dad the human jungle gyms!).

These photos are of Ella playing with her new playcube that we bought on Craigslist for $10...SUCH a steal, this one is about $75 new. Our $10 version is in great shape and Ella loves it!
Look at this girl playing on her knees! She needs kneepads for those poor little legs.

"I'm so tired I have to lay my head down to play but I must not fall asleep...must keep playing!"

Bear crawling is the best way to get around!

I see you!
