Krispy Kreme Visit

We had a hankering for doughnuts....ok well maybe the pregnant one in the house had a hankering, anyway, we made our way to Krispy Kreme for a visit. Ella enjoyed watching the doughnuts being made, but more than that she enjoyed running in circles up and down the step they provide so little kids can see the doughnuts going by.

She got her own hat (which was cherished for days), and a tasty doughnut treat to enjoy of course!

Snow Day

Bundled and Ready For A Walk

Here are a few pictures of the miniature snow day we had a while back. We had maybe 2 inches on the ground and they canceled school all around us - so silly! It was Ella's first time seeing the snow though, so we had to get out an play in it a bit. We took a walk to a nearby park, and she enjoyed running in it, although she tried to pick some up and wasn't happy when it stuck to her gloves. She called it "dirt".


We had hot chocolate to warm up with when we came home, she LOVED that part of our snow day!

No More Bottles

A couple of months ago we made the big girl leap to using only cups instead of bottles too. It was a long time coming but we finally got Ella to stop drinking milk from her bottles. We told her that Anna and Cody's new baby (in the making) needed her bottles. We bought her a bunch of new sippy cups as a trade. If she handed over her bottles then she got a pretty wrapped box just for her....well she grudgingly agreed and put the bottles in a bag herself and then gave them to Anna & Cody.

She really didn't mind the switch nearly as much as we thought she would. She's been drinking water or juice from a cup for a very long time, she just won't drink milk from them. Well, not much has changed, she still won't drink milk from her cup unless her arm is twisted....calcium
supplements here we come! :)

Baby News

We're happy to share the news that we are having another baby! I'm 15 weeks along. Baby is due August 13th. We are SUPER excited, and can only imagine how much our lives will change once we add another sweet baby to the mix. Ella knows about the baby but doesn't really "get it". She told us she has a "tiny baby Ella tummy" last week. It'll all make sense to her come August. :) We're not going to find out the gender this time around. It's a bit of a challenge having the ability to look and see at any moment what's going on inside, and if it's a boy or a girl squirming around in there. With some strong will and a blindfold during our ultrasound it will remain a secret until he or she makes their appearance later this summer.

Things have been going smoothly so far. The first 13 or so weeks I was really queasy and just plain exhausted every day. I still can't ever find anything that sounds good to eat, and sweets (which I normally LOVE) are a big turn off most of the time. Smells still drive me up the wall, I just want to yell at people that put on 5 squirts of cologne (yes that's you Mr. grocery store checkout guy) and don't think about the poor nauseated people of the world. I can't shop at certain grocery stores that have esp. stinky seafood departments, and the cleaner/laundry/soap isles are still a no go too.
My vision has changed a ton since being pregnant which didn't happen the first go around either! I can't wear my contacts at all. Starting at 6 weeks my eyes got really dry and so irritated and light sensitive that I couldn't even drive. After calling in sick to work because I couldn't drive, I decided the contacts just weren't happening anymore, so it's just glasses for this girl for the next 6 months. Overall though I'm feeling pretty well, better by the week.

Everyone says you start to show much earlier with subsequent pregnancies...well it's true for me. I already look way more pregnant that I think I did when I was this early with Ella.
