Smile while you swing

Ok, so maybe we're obsessed parents, but we are just so stinkin excited over all of Ella's daily new habits and changes that we want to share them with all of you. She loves to swing in her swing and today was flashing smiles galore while she was hanging out.

This video is a bit blurry since the swing is moving but you can certainly see the giant smile across her face! It warms our hearts every time she grins. She even started cooing today while she grins. Every day there seems to be something new and wonderful that she does. Obsessed and madly in love with our baby girl...you bet we are! And excuse the goofy commentary in the background... whatever it takes to get a smile.

Bath Time Curls

Every time we give Ella a bath and wash her hair it's curly as can be while it is still wet. Her daddy has super curly hair so maybe her curls are here to stay?

New Toys

We brought out some new toys for Ella to "play" with. She enjoyed staring at the bright colors and gave us tons of smiles. They are hard to catch but you can see a few grins in these videos. She ended up staring at the colored toy for a good 45 min.

Dragon Boat Races & Fleet Week in Portland

We had a wonderful day today. We went downtown and watched a few heats of the dragon boat races. The boats are so pretty and all the teams were really competitive and that made it really fun to watch.





We then strolled along the waterfront and people watched at the festival carnival area. We walked along all of the big ships but it was hard to see them well because they were fenced off so we crossed the steel bridge to get a better view from the esplanade and then looped back to our car. All in all it was a long walk. Ella was a trooper and slept most of the way.

We recently discovered that our small camera can take videos. So here's a bit of Ella just kicking around. Gives you more of an idea how much she's grown and how much she's moving around.

Tummy Time

Ella really likes tummy time, we thought she might cry or give us trouble when we first tried to put her on her tummy but she really seems to like it...we try to give her some hang out time on her belly multiple times a day, for at least 10 minutes...sometimes more depending on her mood. This week not only did she not cry when we put her down, she bobbed her head around a bit, turned from one side to the other and then fell asleep! Silly parents....we think it's fun and exciting to work on neck and back strength...Ella just thinks it's a bore!
